O HEY LOOK a totally original character
also sorry for the picture being so big, it lost too much detail when i made it any smaller than this. subscript to make the following wall of text smaller. also, tl;dr: my characters are too complicated. saved you some time there. about the character now. his name is Jonathan. a lot of you guys know my character Enki (the rainbow furry thing, can be found in my gallery), they're both from the same alternate dimension thinger that still has no name. aside from names, though, i have a TON of info crap on it that i might put together a freewebs site for, just as a place to store info for easy reference. making up universes is super fun. uhm. so, about Jonathan. his personality is way different from his looks. he's really antisocial, partially due to the rest of his species being all like 'ooooh nature ooooh love n peace n stuff wheeeee'. it's like.. a whole species of hippie bird things. and Jonathan hates it XD he'd much rather be reading or exploring the rest or their largely unexplored world than singing and weaving flower necklaces and shit like that. which everyone else does quite frequently. HIPPIE BIRDS. it's really, really easy to make him angry, but he hides it pretty well. he'd much rather just leave people who are annoying him than blow up at them. the only person he'll really argue with is his sister (who usually doesn't deserve it, she's quite a bit nicer than he is). he usually wears stuff like seen in this picture; oversized shirts, skinny jeans, and either the pink glasses as seen here or a pair of steampunk-looking goggles with orange lenses. sometimes necklaces with oversized pendants on them. he's almost never seen without something covering his eyes.. not that he's hiding them, though, he finds it easier to ignore people when they can't really make eye contact. (his eyes are pale blue, by the way.) him and Enki are like.. BFFs. their two species dislike eachother though, so no one approves of this (however no one cares enough to do anything about it). Enki is one of the only people Jonathan will actually talk to, he's really really quiet around everyone else. but not in a shy way, more in an 'i hate you so no i'm not going to talk' kind of way. however, most mistake it for the former and just think he's really socially awkward or something. another cause of his hate for the rest of his species is that his right wing is partially paralyzed, so he can't fly, and they seem to think this means he can't do anything by himself. it's mostly his family that treats him like that, just because they're worried about him, but he's pointed out to them before that even if he could fly he probably wouldn't because it's just as easy to get around where all of them live without flying. where they live is this huuuuge forest thing, with trees that are like, taller than skyscrapers, and they have this treehouse villiage thing happening LOL. i'll draw a picture of that one day, so you guys can see what i'm imagining. FFFF WHAT ELSE TO SAY. he's about 13/14 years old, which for his species really isn't that young, since they only live until about 30-40. somewhere in their teens they stop visibly aging, so they all look pretty young. until then, they age at about the same speed humans do. also, when they're born, their wings are completely covered with feathers. some lose all their feathers over time, but most (like Jonathan) keep some of them. and yes, their wings are transparent. and there are veins n shit going through them, but you can't see them because their blood is clear, too. fancy. there's a TON more i want to write about their society and wtfever, but.. XD i doubt most of you care, really. end wall of text. lineart in SAI, colouring in Painter X, some adjustments in photoshop. |
